Built on the doomgeneric engine for the meter's Artery AT32F415 chip, it plays all nine levels of Freedoom Episode 1 in full color, complete with save slots and working intermissions. You flash the firmware over USB-C, requiring clang 20 so the image fits. Controls are wired up to a DJI drone controller.

Turns out checking circuit current and clearing demons use surprisingly similar screen space.

⚙️ Cor3Duo released an early preview of Kirikae, a static recompiler written in Rust that turns Nintendo Switch executables into native x86-64 Windows binaries.

Instead of running an emulator, it translates ARM64 code straight into a native .exe using Cranelift. Full 3D commercial games already boot and run at 30 fps on entry-level GPUs through Vulkan 1.3.

You need Cargo, the MSVC linker, and your own dumped ExeFS and RomFS files to construct the final executable. It doesn't ship with any firmware, keys, or game data.

It's got six fighters, 11 stages, three camera modes, and four-player multiplayer over an actual link cable, provided everyone uses the same ROM version.

👾 Developer davidpwalter has announced Pokémon Emerald Color, a demake backporting Gen-3 Hoenn to the Game Boy Color hardware.

The project uses Pokémon Crystal as its base to recreate Emerald's storyline, style, and mechanics under GBC graphics limits. You'll need your own copies of both Emerald and Crystal to build the ROM, which you can run on PC emulators or on original hardware with a flash cart.

Frame rates still drop in heavier areas on real hardware, so expect Sky Pillar to test that 8-bit Z80 chip. 📼

💾 Resident Evil 2: Deadly Science is a homebrew project bringing Capcom's PS1 survival horror to the Nintendo DS.

It's still rough, but all 125 rooms from disc 1 are in, complete with pre-rendered backgrounds, 3D door animations, item combining, and working zombie AI. Cutscenes past the first two are broken and some walls are see-through, but running out of health in a dark hallway works just fine.

You'll need a European PS1 disc 1 dump and a Linux terminal or WSL setup to build the ROM file for flashcarts or melonDS.

🕹️ RetroBrowser+ 1.8.0 adds Capcom CPS-1, CPS-2, and CPS-3 support to your browser, running through a WebAssembly build of FinalBurn Neo.

That means Street Fighter II, Marvel vs. Capcom, and 3rd Strike are playable right in the extension. The update also adds save importing and exporting using its own .rbsv format, so your progress isn't trapped on a single machine, though landing a parry in a browser tab is still on you.

It also packs a new Neon Pop theme and fixes for automatic artwork downloads.

The UI has been reworked for the GBA screen, cramming the quest log, spell slots, and all 16 floors into your pocket. It even keeps four-player co-op over the link cable, though you can fill empty slots with CPU teammates if your friends lost their cables twenty years ago.

You'll need a converter tool to build the GBA ROM using your own PC game files.

It plays in HD widescreen, eliminates the original slowdown, cleans up the wobbly polygons, and adds ten save-state slots alongside custom shaders.
